I selected a file or a folder, clicked "Start Investigation" button and nothing happens."
Quttera currently does not support files and folders having Unicode names. This means that Quttera
currently is capable only of investigating files and folders with names in English.

Does Quttera require periodical updates or not?
Quttera is a new born project and our development team periodically enhances application's features
and functionality as well as functionality of our investigation engine.
Quttera's updates do not contain definitions of new security treatments and signatures, as it is in case of
common antivirus updates.
Our updates provide improvements in application performance and functionality, enhancement of user interface,
bugfixes of newly discovered software defects and finally the improvements in investigation algorithm itself.
Quttera's updates are not mandatory but very recommended since they are only to improve Quttera's functionality
and performance.
Please choose the most convenient way to manage updates using settings in the Update section in the dialog box.

How Quttera differs from other anti-virus solutions based on a program behavior heuristics?
The above mentioned solutions (program behavior based) mostly address security threats which are spread
as traditional executable files. Upon execution of such files the program behavior based detection mechanism
hooks each action performed by suspicious program and decides whether this action malicious or not.
Quttera is not intended to be used for investigation of executable files (i.e computer programs).
Our approach invented especially for detection of previously unknown shellcodes and zero-day security
vulnerability exploits which are spread around the world through the most commonly used files such as: multimedia files,
digital documents, images e.t.c...

If I already have installed anti-virus solution why do I need to install Quttera?
Most of traditional signature-based(known threats) solutions as well as behavior based solutions are
dedicated to detect security threats which are spread as executable files.
Quttera keeps the computer content such as multimedia files, digital pictures and images, digital documents
secure from previously unknown shellcodes and zero-day security vulnerability exploits.

How Quttera protects my content?
Quttera provides two investigation services:
On demand investigation - enables a user to manually select a file or a folder and investigate it's content.
Real-time investigation - automatic detection mechanism that tracks and investigates any file-system modifications/changes (addition of a new file, modification of an existing file,...).
The purpose of the investigation process is to ensure that a certain document/s or media file/s does not contain shellcode
or security vulnerability exploit capable of compromising your machine.

Why file investigation takes so much time?
Quttera implements fully signatureless investigation approach capable of detection malicious content.
Since such approach is not based on any previously available information, Quttera's investigation time is greater
than required by traditional anti-virus solution and basically depends on a size of a file being investigated.

This application has failed to start...
This error occurs due to some inconsistency between last Quttera version and new Windows updates.
To resolve this error please download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
